Texan indie rock band Midlake announce an Exeter date on their UK tour this Autumn promoting the release of “THE COURAGE OF OTHERS”, their extraordinary third album. It is their most complete and beautiful body of work yet, best appreciated as a whole in the old-fashioned sense of an album - which makes perfect sense when you know Midlake linchpin Tim Smith’s fondness for the look and feel of past times.

Doors: 8pm. All Standing. Over 16's only.
New studio album ‘Eye on the Horizon’ was released in April this year. Not only does ‘Eye on the Horizon’ reflect on their illustrious past of innovative releases but it picks up from where the popular Little Britain left off in the mid 90’s and re-invents the band with ten tracks that mark the move into fully formed song-writing against a backdrop of the dubwise dancabilty they are reknown for. From the ashes of Big Audio Dynamite, founder member Greg Dread, original bassmaster Leo Williams, the unmistakable MC Spee, legendary reggae vocalist Earl 16 alongside Chris Compton and Chris Oldfield make up the current team of dreadz. Their dynamic live show has been central to the story since the early days and continues to blow away audiences worldwide.
Tickets also available over the counter at the Exeter Phoenix.

Having already announced his biggest headline show to date at Brixton Academy, confirmed support for Green Day at Wembley Stadium this month and another Roundhouse performance for the iTunes Festival in July, folk-rock hero Frank Turner unleashes details of his full December UK tour. Frank's endless touring schedule has recently seen him visit Australia, China, Hong Kong and Israel for the first time. He's playing Glastonbury twice, T In The Park, Reading and Leeds, Latitude plus European and American festivals including Lollopalooza. Coinciding with the summer festival shows, a limited 7” of 'Try This At Home' is to be released on 2nd August. On the B-side will be two competition winners' compositions, completely in the spirit of the A-side. Frank’s new studio album ‘Poetry of the Deed’ is out now. After a storming show in Exeter last year, Frank will be back in the Lemon Grove in December. Not to be missed.
